Rosemead, Los Angeles County
Rosemead gets its name from Rose's Meadow, the pasture where Leonard Rose bred and trained trotting horses in the late 1800s. The community stayed rural, known for chicken and rabbit farms, until after World War II, and it incorporated in 1959. Southern California Edison, the electric utility for much of the region, has its headquarters on Walnut Grove Avenue.
